Timand Bates served as the Associate Dean of Students at Bard College, where he led diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and supported student success and retention.
His extensive teaching experience includes roles at the Bard Prison Initiative and American University of Central Asia, where he developed curricula and led professional development workshops.
His publications and presentations reflect his commitment to innovative educational strategies and global classroom experiences.
Timand Bates holds an M.A. in Teaching of English from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a B.A. in Languages and Literature from Bard College.
Currently, Timand Bates is the Program Manager for the Open Society University Network (OSUN), where he managed an $850k grant from the Open Society Foundation to deliver liberal arts courses to 45 higher education institutions globally. His efforts increased student enrollment by 140% and faculty participation by 120% within a year.
